What is the Wrigley Writer and where did it come from?

See before 1989, the Chicago Cubs did not have lights at their stadium, Wrigley Field, so they had to play all of their home games during the day and before the night fell.  They now have lights on the field, but they continue the tradition of having day games in Chicago.  I have been lucky enough to go to Chicago and watch two Cubs games.  It was an amazing experience and in true Chicago summer tradition there was a rain delay both games.

The days are so warm in Texas that I did not want to go outside and I was lucky enough to have cable, so I could watch Cubs games.  In turn, I grew up a huge Cubs fan.  Ryne Sandberg and Mark Grace were two of my favorite Cubbies.  I still love the Cubs, they are the lovable losers.

The Writer comes from me being a writing teacher.  I have always loved to write and when I received the opportunity last year at Jackson I was thrilled to share my passion with students.  I may not have done the greatest job last year, but I hope to show my students this year how much fun writing really is and maybe one day one of my students will become a writer or a writing teacher.
